Semporna

History of Semporna:

Semporna comes from a word from the Philippines meaning peaceful or calm..It's all from the story may be bach to about 100 years where this town can be said a haunted place. During that time fishermen from Philippines found the sea was so calmly so they named it as Semporna.

Actually, most of the people of Semporna from that time were from Phillipines,Paskistan, China. During that period only 2 families from Paskitan in Semporna. The Chinese were from Phillippines, Hong kong and China. The bajaus (perahu) were from Phillippines.

During that time Semporna was a very peaceful place where all the people almost knew each other.

No doubt, the BN government has a lot of projects mainly construction roads in Semporna.

The roads which had been constructed mainly damaged about 6 months time. The people here has no way to make complains as there is no local newspaper .Part time reporters don't bother to make complains as not to annoy the YBs and the authority concerned.
