KOTA KINABALU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)'s Vice President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, said tough years are awaiting Sabahans, and if their leaders failed to understand and respond to issues in time, as always, their next generations risk losing all opportunities meant for them.
"The current government is not serious in resolving perennial problems like the presence of illegal immigrants and monopoly of power. Obviously the government had failed, and it does not care to resolve these issues. They have the power to act but they just ignore our views and our rights.
"Because of this, now we have many explosive issues in this country that will be very difficult to handle in the future," he said in a statement issued here today.
Dr Jeffrey further said the fact is that Sabahans are unsure who is foreigner because foreigners could come and leave as they like, they are in possession of Malaysian identity card, can vote and many Federal agencies are already regarding them as either melayu or bumiputera.
"I agree completely with Tan Sri Simon Sipaun who raised that only a miracle could solve the problems of overflowing illegal immigrants and also poverty in Sabah, the richest in natural resources but somehow the poorest state of the country.
"We are really in a mess. I wonder what our ruling leaders are doing. Are they as blind as the Federal politicians?
"As New Year approaches, I call upon our state leaders to ponder for a moment, reflect and search their conscience as what is going to happen to this state if we continue in this position…" he said.

SUPPORT FOR ANWAR AS SABAH PKR CHIEF (Dr Jeffrey's first public reaction on Anwar's appointment as Sabah PKR chief)

Since Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ia also our (PKR) Ketua Umum, it is a privilege for Sabah to have him as our (Sabah) Pengerusi Perhubungan Negeri (State PKR Liaison Chairman).

I would have objected if it was just any other leader.

This means we, in Sabah, can discuss and have direct access to the head of the National Opposition who is also the Prime Minister-in-waiting!

I view this as something positive. In other words Sabah's and Sarawak's status have been upgraded! Isn't this what we have been looking for?

Of course in the long term, we will assist him to ease his burden by proposing an alternative appointment for the Borneo States.

DAP YB Jimmy Wong: I will resigns if.....

Sabah 7.5% Sales Tax – I will step down if CM can prove I am wrong says Jimmy Wong the State Assemblyman for Sri Tanjong in a statement today.

As I have said I will step down as Sri Tanjung Assemblyman if your honourable Chief Minister Datuk Sri Musa Aman can prove that the smallholders are not being taxed the Sabah 7.5% Sales Tax.

I had already highlighted the ‘error’ many times including at the State Legislative Assembly and even shown proves to the Chief Minister, Ministers and Assemblymen during the recent assembly.

It is the state government duty to correct what is wrong, I have come out with proves and many had also highlighted the matter in the news, but nothing is being done.

Therefore I put up this challenge and I will step down if CM can prove that I am wrong, and I hope CM too will do the same if he is wrong.

This is very important as it means the survival of the small and medium size planters and the whole oil palm industry. Even big companies in West Malaysia have already made statements that they are heading towards troubled waters. Planters in Sabah are even worst off with high fertilizer cost and the most taxes and the State Government cannot keep ignoring this and should act now before it is too late.

With the 7.5% Sabah sales tax still being erronously charged on planters and the government is not admitting the mistake I see another black history in the making of the agriculture industry. The first was cocoa where planters were left on their own by the government and one-by-one died and the cocoa industry was history for Sabah. I do not want to see the same thing happen to the oil palm industry and I will do my part to help.
On the price issue, I call the State Government to act immediately to help the oil palm sectors in the state that are now feeling the pressure and hard pressed due to the falling price of the commodity.

Without any concrete action from the government the situation will worsen and Sabah as the largest oil palm producers will become history.

I had many times urged the state government to review the 7.5% Sabah Sales tax imposed on the industry and had shown prove that the tax has been passed to the smallholders no matter how small their plantation are.

If the situation is allowed to go on, it not only burden the planters especially smallholders but also make the state unattractive to investors.

I hope this issue will receive the government attention and drastic action as I had showed prove to the Chief Minister at the recent State Legislative Assembly that the planters including small and medium size oil palm planters are the one paying the 7.5% Sales Tax, though in the first assembly CM had told me that the government never taxed the small holders and only the big companies and I had proven to him that he got the wrong information.

With the Sabah Sales Tax matter coming to light and more people understanding the real situation, I hoped the state government would direct millers not to impose the 7.5% sales tax to planters and the tax be reviewed due to the drastic fall of the CPO (Crude Palm Oil) price.

Apart from that, the government should come out with a statement and explanation on what steps is being done, already done and will be done in connection with the fallen price of oil palm to help the industry.

The people in the oil palm sector and me would like to know whether the special committee to tackle the issue had been set up. If already set up, what had been done to address the situation?

I voice out on behalf of the oil palm industry and it should not be taken lightly as the price had gone down by about 70 percent compared to three months ago and cause loses not only to small holders but also big companies, millers, producers and fertilizer companies.

In fact, I am surprised to hear that a big listed company had to cut 20 percent of its employee’s salary following losses caused by the fallen price of oil palm. That was a few days ago, now many companies are either cutting cost by slashing employee’s salary or retrenchment. If no action is taken, I am sure the government plan to develop the Palm Oil Industry Cluster (POIC) will not bear fruit.

Massive Unemployment
The global economic crisis is real, every seconds count and immediate action must be taken to address and counter the drastic fall in CPO prices. Massive unemployment will happen in Sabah if the State government failed to listen and act positively and immediately.

In Singapore and other develop countries retrenchment in other sectors of their industry has already started as condition gets tough. This is because there is no remedy in the sector they are in.

Our oil palm industry could be helped, however without aid, our oil palm industry too will head the same direction, starting from cutting cost, slashing salaries then retrenchment, resulting in many unemployment.

This could be remedied, but steps must be taken such as:-
-reviewing policies
-reviewing CPO taxes and cess (Federal and State government)
-reduction of fertilizer high price
-review the plantation workers’ levy
-review of the RM40 per tonne discount on CPO price for east Malaysia

The state government has the voice and platform and should request for a review on the CPO taxes and cess such as discount on MPOB oil cess and subsidy for fertilizers.

To set a good leadership example the state government should take the lead by reviewing its 7.5% Sabah sales tax which is the highest in the country.

We cannot afford to wait and see for the impact to happen, our oil palm industry could be help, don’t wait until there are massive retrenchment of workers, acting at that time would be too late as the damage had been done and the government will have to fork out more to help those affected by the economic crisis.

Without the help from the Sabah State Government the oil palm industry that has been paying numerous taxes and cess to Federal and state government will collapse and I for one do not want to see them die-standing without being heard and getting help from Federal and State government so that they could survive the global economic crisis.

Actually the tragedy wouldnot have happened after the Highland Towers' collapsed sometime in 1993. The government and authority concerned had banned the buildings at the hillslope.

Most of the Sabahans wish SAPP will join PR. Being a small party with only 2 YBs of parliament the sound it makes is just minimum. Whenever join in PR the whole situation changes. Imagine 82 YBs sound together better than only 2...................

MCA & Gerakan

Recently many of tne above members and YBs sound the ISA should be revealed by government. Whenever the opposition campaigned to sign for the topic to be discussed in parliament not even 1 of their YBs signed. Don't talk just because 1 wants to become hero infront of rakyats but, once come to reality all hide in the cave like mouse...................

According to the Sabah state secretary's statement that more than 17,000 applied for the above and only 1,000 over approved. Just to remind him hoping the figure he had given is true. Sabahans are not easily fooled nowadays.

He claimed that Sabahans should be aware not to fall into the trap of Anwar Ibrahim relating the petrol royalty. Even a primary student can differenciate 20% or 5% is best, don't dare he try to fool Sabahans! We are not idiots!

What's wrong with PKR division in Semporna?

Questions have be voiced from members and public of Semporna.

1) During the recent visit of Anwar to KK only few members had been informed.

2) The AGM of PKR to be held on 29th & 30th November in KL and yet few closed to the head division had been informed where the large no. had been ignored.

3) Any meeting held in Semporna only informed to those close to the head division and most had been left behind.

4) Many public had filled the PKR entry forms to become members come accross that they are not in the list of ahli PKR .Most of them claimed that they passed their forms in the Semporna Division and now they found out that they are still not accepted as members what's wrong?

What's going on with the minister of tourism? Isn't it good to have road signs with various languages which make the tourists feel comfortable and, at the same time the students can learn more? Rm 50 millons for primary schools without Sabah

What's wrong with our BN government? Announcement of rm 50millions for the Chinese primary schools but,Sabah is exempted!

Where are all our Sabah YBs especially Chinese who they always claim they are serious in helping the Chinese schools and often seen in the news for the donation of funds!

Make some noises, don't you dare to keep quiet or else, coming election you will be voted out. If you are courious to keep your seats do ...............

Biodiesel--Kimanis

What soo proud for the UPKO to lay banners for they so call the President (Bernard Dompok) claimed he had discussed in the cabinet meeting and was promised by PM that in line with the laying of gas-pipes to Bintulu at the mean time he will step up a biodiesel in Kimanis.

Frankly speaking don't get happy so early,don't they remember that the promised in May the project would be canceled but, after few months project would be on!

Don't fool by the empty promise. After all in March 2009, new people will come in and by the time will the Biodiesel be on?

Sajak Kematian

Last 2 nights TV3 had announced that the disc of the above showed in the primary schools and received various reaction from the children's parents.

Actually, I think it's too young for primary schools' children to understand.

I have a very good suggestion that this disc should distribute to all the YBs and show in all the government agencies.

Let the YBs and the government servants understand what punishment they will receive if they corrupt or abuse of power.......................

The minister of PDN & HEP claims that rakyats are not interested in the rebate scheme it's wrong. Those who are not interested 'cause they have many summons which they claim will be a loose to them.

If the rakyats are not interested in money how can money politic be happened in the UMNO election?.............

Till today no action has been taken by the ministry nor the bpr for the report which has been out for 2 months.

Where the bloody hell goes wrong? Or sweeping the whole scandals under carpet?

30% equity

Matter of facts most Malaysians are not against this. The reasons for rejecting is that most of the said above were given to those related to policic and their cronies.

To solve this, is easy. Do seperate the 30% into 10 groups and do sort of lucky draws so that every bumi has a chance...............

The PM sometime back claimed that this project has been cancelled and yet, during the opening ceremony of BPS general Meeting he said the project is on!

Why he treats Sabahans like kids when most of the people want the project be cancelled and set up a Electricity supply plant using the natural gas ?

Imagine the cost of laying pipes from Sabah to Sarawak the sum can be saved by erecting a electricity supply plant in Sabah?

Which way goes wrong?

I will like to ask the authority concerned to cancell the whole programme of giving all these to the nelayan especially in Semporna because although all of these had been giving out but the price of fish never goes dowm instead shooting up

Aki Momogun: Ansari Quit PKR

Ansari quits PKR?

Sabah senior lawyer Haji Ansari Abdullah (pix left) had tendered his resignation as Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) Sabah Liaiason Committee head. A source closed to the party revealed to Aki Momogun that Ansari had submitted his resignation letter last week.

He had also told the State Liaison Committee of his intention to quit but no official words was forthcoming from the party's headquarters.

"There is a gag order on it by the party's leadership," the source said.

In another development, PKR Pensiangan division chairman Danny Anthony Andipai (pix right) is said being called by his supporters to quit the party and to join Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) which had left Barisan Nasional.

Andipai had not denied nor confirmed the matter and when pressed for answer, he said, "Wait and see."

He also said that the matter arises as his supporters were not happy that PKR Vice President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan was now actively campaigning for candidacy in the event a by-election is held for the Pensiangan parliamentary constituency.

An Election Court had declared the seat vacant, ruling that the election of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah's president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup's win uncontested in the March 8, 2008 general elections.

Kurup, who is Federal Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister, had appeal against the decision which is yet to be heard by the Court of Appeal. Kurup lost his seat after his victory was being challenged by Andipai.

Andipai was the PKR candidate in the general elections but his nomination papers was rejected by the returning officer resulting in Kurup being declared the winner. One of Andipai's lawyers in the election petition hearing was Ansari.

Change by Kimura - Achieves record-high rating

Final episode of "CHANGE" achieves record-high rating.
Japan can "change" with a leader like Prime Minister Asakura.

Fuji Television's Monday night drama "CHANGE" achieved a record-breaking average viewer rating of 27.4%. This was the highest number among all dramas aired in Japan this season. When Takuya Kimura, portraying the role of Prime Minister Keita Asakura, gave his 23-minute long speech in one long shot, the rating soar 4%. This was probably the first attempt a Japanese television drama showed a 23-minute long scene in one shot. The rating reached its peak of 31.2% around the time Keita proposed to Rika Miyama, played by Eri Fukatsu.
Mr. Kimura's charismatic role even caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal. On July 2, 2008, the paper ran an article and photo of Mr. Asakura (Takuya Kimura) next to the real-life prime minister, Yasuo Fukuda. Japan will definitely "change" if Keita Asakura was our leader.

looking forward to CHANGE [Rating: ?/10] i've seen some pics of takuya as an elementary teacher. i guess his character is made geeky initially, before he becomes d PM. wow! dats a change indeed, compared to his previous doramas!! i cant wait. im thinking dis drama is gonna be a big hit!! :)))

2.	HERO revisited. [Rating: 10/10] CHANGE stars Kimura Takuya and Abe Hiroshi from HERO, and also produced by the same director and scriptwriters as HERO. Once again Kimura Takuya plays a pure-hearted man trying to help others, scaled up from a Lawyer to a Prime Minister. I am a big fan of HERO series, but CHANGE was even better for me. Kimura Takuya just has that charisma as a leader, and he is the only person who could've handled this role. It was quite interesting seeing him with those dorky glasses... reminds me of Asunaro Hakusho. Although slightly underused, Abe Hiroshi was also excellent, providing comedic relief for this serious drama. The person I was most impressed with was Fukatsu Eri. Her chemistry with KimuTaku was even better than that of Matsu Takako, and I really connected with her character (plus those black stockings were really hot on her) The cast for this thing is absolutely incredible, they managed to gather an amazing array of established actors, and possibly most amazing guest appearances since Furuhata Ninzaburou series. Admittedly, the plot lacks reality. However, doramas are supposed to be about things that never happen in real life. Though the setting is impossible, character behavior in general makes sense, and impossible scenarios are executed so well that they are touching without being corny. Although slightly too idealistic at times, I love the way they've depicted right and wrong and what truly important values are. This series has the most solid first and final episode of all dorama series I've seen. I espeically loved the final episode, where they've shown how resistant to change government policies are, even for something as trivial as serving teas for a meeting (this was very funny too). The 'climax' with 20+ minutes of uncut scene was very impressive, and there were so many great, memorable scenes throughout the series. This is a really well-made dorama series with very high level of acting all around. The plot addresses the problems with today's election-driven politics, and attempts to make us think more about our roles in a democratic society. It's a series that made me laugh and cry, now one of my favorite series of all time.

3.	We want change!!! [Rating: 9/10] A well-written, well-cast and well-executed dorama showcasing some fine acting by the cast and an intriguing storyline. This dorama definitely brings back memories of Hero and Souri to Yobanaide with Tamura Masakazu. While not overly different from his other screen characters, Kimura Takuya plays the role very well and has some great chemistry with Eri Fukatsu. Abe Hiroshi was a great addition to the cast adding some nice comedic moments to the series. Kato Rosa was perhaps the only extraneous character who, whether because of her character or her acting, didn't add much value to the series. For those who are interested in this dorama, I would also recommend watching the British dramas Yes Minister and later, Yes Prime Minister which depicts the rigidity of the civil service.

4.	. [Rating: 8/10] I think the main point of this series is that by pulling some strings, people get into powerful positions. It was thanks to Kanbayashi's political influence that helped Asakura into power. Kanbayashi was said to be the real Souri behind the scenes, but he doesn't have the power of Souri. However, this invokes many conspiracy theories that high offices can be (and are) controlled and corrupted. In this case, Asakura is out of Kanbayashi's control. Kanbayashi doesn't like it so he wants to bring Asakura down with more political maneuvering. Maybe a pop quote by Cliff Huxtable from The Cosby Show would work here: "I brought you into this world, and I'll take you out." Change has an excellent cast. Maybe too good? Love Rosa, but they could've done better with her character. Ishiguro Ken is here, whom I always recognize from Shomuni as Ukyo . Even cute Takahashi Yumiko made a guest appearance! She played Rie in Shomuni! I love when I see the Shomuni girls. This is the second time I've seen Nishimura Masahiko in a drama about a Prime Minister -- Souri to Yobanaide. (At least Change touched on some issues compared to that drama.) And theres the man himself, Abe Hiroshi. My head would've exploded if Nakama Yukie made an appearance with him. Playing Asakura's mother is Fuji Junko, who I thought gave a bland performance. I think it could've been written better, therefore I can't give this drama a perfect score. A drama with this much star power has to be given much consideration. There's a couple unnecessary lines and maybe scenes here and there. They tried too hard to make Asakura look like a noble kid who has taken office. The chemistry with the beautiful Fukatsu Eri and KimuTaku was a high point.

5.	Good political dorama. [Rating: 8/10] Kimura is slowly moving more complex roles other than those typical romance characters. A political dorama is hard to entertain but somehow, with kimura's magical acting, it attracts the audience. Unfortunately, the ending doesn't seems complete...and madonna's song Miles Away doesn't really gel with this dorama.

6.	THE BEST DRAMA OF 2008!!! [Rating: 10/10] Kimura Takuya was absolutely charming in this drama and truly displayed his talent and experience as a dramatic actor. The supporting cast, as well, were all wonderfully charismatic and shared a good level of chemistry with the lead actor. The story itself had the right balance of political intrigue, comedy, and romance to keep me watching on the edge of my seat from episode 1 right until the end. If you haven't yet seen this drama, then please do so!!!

7.	GOOD!!!! [Rating: 8/10] It's a good drama. Honestly, I m a big fan of takuya kimura. He's d main attraction to watch dis drama n I hv 2 said he hadnt let me down so far except sora kara furu ichioku no hoshi . the storyline is interestin n I 'd watched de whole drama whithin one day.though d endin bit anti-climax , but overal it's a very entertaining drama.

WELL DONE [Rating: 10/10] finish watching this drama not long ago..a well done for takuya kimura'a acting skill..he potraits his character very well..n this drama is also really gd as it brings the audience in dept into the politics world without us feeling boriing abt the plot..although this drama is more abt the politics world but there is oso romatic scenes in it..WATCH IT IF U HAVE NOT..

9.	"The Election is a War" quote from Nirasawa [Rating: 9/10] I must say that I am satisfied with it’s ending. If it turned out differently I would’ve given this a lower rating than 9. I was empress as to how they made Asakura’s character, he was not just a puppet prime minister but he really did his best in being one, a nice performance from Kimura. Good thing, Fukatsu Eri was chosen as Miyama because I can’t picture anyone else portraying the role. And I really can't hate Terao Akira's role here, since in reality his character really do exists in the world of politics and that also applies to the rest of the political characters involved. As for Abe, he again provided some laughs but he did a good job from being a election planner --> special aide --> cabinet secretary. Additional laughs provided by Kato Rosa, Ohkura Koji and the rest of the Asakura Team. My favorite episode was definitely the Beverly Hills Donuts/Bingham episode (ep5). By the way, I didn’t like the ending theme, a Japanese song could have been better.

[Rating: 9/10] i wonder why they said tis drama is not as gud as compare to other drama he star...for me it is indeed one of the most excellent drama...takuya kimura proves once again he is a very gud actor...he never failed me...he always up to my expectation... in tis drama they picture him as geek...a kindergarden teacher who loves to watch star, he got no interest in politics until his late father assistant insist him that he should be in caimpagn...along the way he show them the real value of politics...the ending...well...cannot say..=)

Music was very stately and had a regal feel to it matching the series itself very well. Although the series may be a bit too idealistic/unrealistic at times, it bears enough realism to get across the main idea and message. With many memorable scenes and great comedy, it is definitely one of my favourite jdramas.

Throw in Abe Hiroshi who is a terrific actor ( Loved him in Dragon Sakura) as the laid back political strategist, Fukatsu Neri ( omg she was super in Bayside Shakesdown !)as the feisty ball busting political aid and the pretty Kato Rosa as the funny political groupie and voila, its a dynamite combination that is sure to make this drama a hit!!! I'm a Takuya Kimura fan-atic so hey I'll watch any video with him in it even if all he does is roll up his eyes!!!

Synopsis
The story begins with the deaths of ruling party's Fukuoka legislator and his eldest son, his heir apparent, in an accident.
